We might be keeping this guy, honestly; we'll see.
He will make a fantastic homestead herd sire. He's 75% Jersey, 25% Belted Galloway. Dad was A2A2 Jersey, registered and stunning. Mom has a Jersey sire and a Belted Galloway dam. Belted Galloway will make his offspring better foragers and better quality beef. Plus, the dun coloring he got from his mama will make for some cute calf colorings!
Blondie, Mini-Mid Jersey Belted Galloway Bull Calf
This little one was born to Wren on August 25th, 2024. Wren is a mini-mid 50% Jersey 50% Belted Galloway and she was bred to a registered mid Jersey bull named BB. This calf will make a fabulous homestead bull and would be great for a community of homesteads to share him. Wren breeds back exceptionally quickly and BB bred his ladies exceptionally quickly. Fertility in his genes!
Being 25% beef—quality Belted Galloway too—and 75% Jersey (dairy), he will help offspring more easily keep weight on and require less feed as Belted Galloways are foragers. We nicknamed him Blondie because he was very light at birth, but he's all kinds of colors with his dun pigment, especially now that it's winter.
$1,200; weaned and ready to go.
