This recipe is an all-time favorite in our house—the kids LOVE them, even my picky eaters. I obtained this recipe in high school and have continued perfecting my cooking style ever since.
Recipe
Ingredients
- 1 pkg egg roll wraps
- 1 pkg coleslaw mix
- 1/2 yellow onion, medium size
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 1 tsp white cooking wine
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 egg (for adhesive)
Directions
Turn on your deep-fat fryer to 350 degrees. Cut chicken breasts into small pieces and cook thoroughly. Chop onion and add to coleslaw mix; cook on the stove over medium heat until cooked thoroughly (still slightly crunchy but softened). Mix chicken, coleslaw/onion mix, soy sauce, and white cooking wine together. Wrap the complete mixture in the egg roll wraps according to the directions on the packaging. Use a raw egg as an adhesive to "glue" them closed. Once wrapped, deep fry at 350 degrees for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown.
