Your Responsibilities
Before scheduling, you must have:
- A chute or stanchion to safely contain your cow
- The ability to get your cow into the containment system
- Someone available to handle and move your cattle during each visit
We will perform the protocol procedures once your cow is properly contained. We do not assist with moving or handling cattle.
Three Essential Farm Visits
Visit 1: Starting the Protocol (Day 0)
During this first visit, we will:
- Insert a CIDR device
- Give a GnRH injection
- Record exact timing for future visits
Visit 2: One Week Later (Day 7)
Exactly 7 days after the first visit, we will:
- Remove the CIDR device
- Give a PG injection
- Confirm timing for AI
Visit 3: The AI Visit
Timing is critical and differs for cows and heifers:
- For cows: 60-66 hours after Visit 2
- For heifers: 52-56 hours after Visit 2
During this visit, we will:
- Perform the AI procedure
- Give a final GnRH injection
Scheduling Your Protocol
When you're ready to start:
- Ensure your containment system is in good working order
- Use our timing calculator to review timing options easily.
- Choose a start date when you can commit to all three appointments—timing matters.
- Ensure you have help available to handle your cattle for each visit
Requirements for Each Visit
- Your cow must be in good health
- You must have help to move and handle your cattle
- Your cow must be properly contained before we begin any procedures
- You must be present during all visits
Good preparation and precise timing are key to successful AI breeding. We're here to help you achieve the best possible results with your cow.
Remember: All three visits must be scheduled in advance to ensure we can maintain the exact timing needed for success.
